For the 15th time, SlowFood Poland invites you to an event promoting the consumption of goose meat. ‘Gęsina na św. Marcina’ this year will run from 8 November to 1 December.
Our Kuryer restaurant is delighted to join the nationwide movement, and Chef Michał Lelek has created a unique menu which offers the opportunity to taste goose meat in a surprising but also very tasty version.
In Poland, in total, more than 7 million geese are bred annually, which puts us in the position of a European leader. It is also worth knowing that goose breeding in our country is entirely ecological - the well-being of the animals is guaranteed, as they feed mainly on grass on pasture and are fed a large amount of oats during the last 3 weeks. In Poland, it has also been forbidden for many years to feed the geese by shoving tubes down their throats so as to obtain steatosis of the liver for the famous foie gras.
